CLS Laboratory Manager - PDL Microbiology

Management: Selects exceptional applicants for employment. Is able to work with employees to give them opportunities to expand their skills. Have regular meetings with employees to address concerns and to guide them in their professional development. Participates in the development and monitoring of training criteria so training is completed in a cohesive manner. Remains timely in submitting personnel documents such as evaluations and performance memos. 4. Quality Management/Performance Improvement: Participates as a team member in the development of the Quality System Essentials. Participates in the collection and evaluation of data for the performance monitors. Reviews data in a timely fashion and takes action as appropriate. 5. Resource: Serves as a resource to lab staff, promotes and facilitates collaboration within and among departments, provides learning and growth opportunities, regularly works on the bench and is aware of the working conditions and issues that may affect performance and quality. LEVEL OF EDUCATION Minimum: BA/BS in Science or Biology Preferred: Master's Degree CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Minimum: California license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Licensure and experience has been validated and has been deemed qualified under the State of California and CLIA to perform clinical laboratory tests and examinations classified as waived, moderate or high complexity as described under CLIA Preferred: MT (ASCP) certification TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum: Proficient in laboratory instruments and computer systems, including ability to troubleshoot. Preferred: YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE Minimum: Four years of clinical laboratory experience or comparable training and experience which provides the skills to perform the job tasks competently Preferred: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES All knowledge, skills, and abilities listed indicate the minimum level deemed necessary to perform this job proficiently.
