Food Services Representative - Deli

POSITION SUMMARY

Food Service Representatives perform a variety of food production, hospitality and environmental service duties that help to ensure the hospital's food service requirements are met on a timely basis and according to standards of safety, quality and performance.

REPORTS TO: Nutrition supervisor.

Job Purpose:

To perform a variety of food production, hospitality, and environmental services duties to help ensure the hospital's food service requirements are met in a timely basis and according to standards of safety, quality, and performance. Obtains necessary supplies from storeroom and refrigerators using requisitions. Cleans Deli daily and work area, including equipment, work tables, utensils, and floor in work area when necessary. Handles food, dishes, equipment and supplies in a safe and sanitary manner.

Major Accountabilities/Specific Job Competencies:

1. Prepares specialty coffees, teas, condiments, serving utensils and containers, dishes, silver, and other appropriate items.

2. Obtains necessary supplies from storeroom and refrigerators using requisitions.

3. Reviews menus and production orders to have a better understanding of timing.

4. Cleans daily the Coffee Cart and work area, including equipment, work tables, utensils, and floor in work area when necessary.

5. Handles food, dishes, equipment, and supplies in a safe and sanitary manner.

Education:

Minimum: High school grd or GED

Technical Requirements:

Knowledge of operation of food service equipment.
