HIM ROI Specialist

Under the supervision of the HIM Supervisor provides support to the HIM Department and its customers by, when appropriate, providing timely access to complete, accurate and legible patient information. Assists with general duties as needed to ensure integrity of the electronic health record.

Minimum: Proof of current (past 3 years) formal education related to California State requirements for confidentiality of health records, medical terminology, health information concepts and introduction to computers.
Preferred: Completion of certification or degree program in Health Information management.

Minimum: Knowledge related to confidentiality requirements and documentation requirements for a variety of healthcare settings. Ability to perform basic computer functions and operate standard office equipment. Ability to perform basic data entry in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Minimum: Two years acute care work experience related to health information functions that include experience in performing release of information and chart completion analysis activities. Successful completion of a degree in HIM/HIT and AHIMA registration as a Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Administrator (RHIA) will be considered equivalent to the required experience.

Preferred: Three years experience related to release of information in a health care setting.
