Supply Technician - Surgery [Santa Barbara]

JOB PURPOSE

The Supply Technician maintains and organizes an adequate level of supplies to support department operations. The Supply Technician also works to coordinate supply delivery to all stakeholders that are involved in the daily department operations.


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES / SPECIFIC JOB COMPETENCIES

1.

Communicates with Clinical Manager,SPD, Materials Manager, physicians and staff to determine supply and equipment needs.

Percentage of time:75%

2.

Cleans and sterilizes instrument trays, disassembling, assembling, and packaging as necessary.

Percentage of time: 5%

3.

Performs routine cleaning duties as needed and removes all outdated sterile supplies.????

Percentage of time: 10%

4.

Coordinates delivery of instruments and supplies to OR in efficient and timely manner.

Percentage of time: 10%

QUALIFICATIONS

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

Minimum:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum:

Ability to operate sterilization equipment. Computer competency required. Ability to perform arithmetic calculations.

Preferred:

YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum:

Minimum 6 months working experience in Surgical Services environment that could include the Operating Room or SPD. Knowledge of basic surgical instruments and surgical procedures.
