Full Job Title: Director - Pediatric Outpatient Clinics
Cottage Children's Medical Center at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital is a recognized regional referral center for the medical needs of children from infants to teenagers in the tri-counties and throughout Central California. Dedicated to providing compassionate care to children and their families, the medical staff of Cottage Children's Medical Center prides itself on using a collaborative, team approach to provide individualized care in a patient-focused environment. Under the clinical stewardship of nationally recognized physicians and specially trained nursing and clinical support staff, Cottage Children's Medical Center offers comprehensive pediatric services, including the only pediatric trauma center between Los Angeles and the Bay Area, a pediatric intensive care unit, acute pediatric unit, Level III neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric hematology/oncology program, pediatric endocrine and diabetes clinic, pediatric gastroenterology clinic, advanced pediatric minimally invasive surgery, pediatric orthopedics, and many other subspecialties.
We are currently seeking an experienced Director who will be responsible for the clinical and operational functioning of outpatient clinic services at all locations. This position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and collaborates closely with the in-patient Director of Children's Services. The Director translates Cottage Health's mission and vision into operation through the design and provision of a quality, integrated service at a reasonable cost. While primarily responsible for the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the hospital's Pediatric outpatient services, the Director demonstrates an awareness of additional internal and external forces impacting care and resources at the point-of-service as well as across the care continuum. A commitment to clinical excellence is displayed through participation in and support of consistent implementation of clinical standards of care and practice and through professional development activities for self and service staff.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Masters in a health related field (MBA, MHA, MSN). Current California Registered Nurse license, BLS certification, PALS certification.
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles, theories, and practices, including infection control with demonstrated clinical expertise in area of practice. Knowledge of administration of prescribed medications and treatments. Knowledge of EPM/EMR applications in an outpatient setting a plus.
5 years of nursing experience, 2 of which are in outpatient services. 2 years of progressive supervisory responsibility.
3 years of experience as a clinical manager in a pediatric specialty group with multi-site, multi-specialty background preferred.
