This position reports to the Marketing Director and is responsible for developing, planning and executing events and activities and coordinating corporate sponsorships that align with and support the marketing strategy, community and employee relations, and strategic goals of Cottage Health. Establish a process and guidelines for determining which events Cottage Health hosts and supports. Event audiences include community members, hospital staff and physicians, partner organizations, clinical professionals, volunteers and visitors.


The Marketing Event Coordinator is involved in cross-disciplinary teams and must maintain positive working relationships with colleagues throughout the organization. To coordinate successful events, the position involves work with project teams that include caterers, rental companies, photographers, AV teams, marketing coordinators, designers, printers, promotional items, mailhouses and others. The Marketing Event Coordinator will be responsible for meeting deadlines and budget goals and tracking and reporting event metrics.


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES / SPECIFIC JOB COMPETENCIES:

 

1.) Marketing event concept development, planning, coordination and execution. Establish project timelines and track spending. Maintain communication with colleagues and vendors and foster positive working environment. Work with marketing department to develop event-related promotions and collateral. Debrief team after events and update procedures and processes when necessary.


2. Monitor industry trends, identify opportunities for events and promotional activities, schedule video/photography shoots and work with volunteers on event staffing.


3. Track and report event metrics and budget to measure ROI. Review and negotiate vendor contracts.


4. Coordinate and track corporate sponsorships.


QUALIFICATIONS


LEVEL OF EDUCATION


Minimum: Bachelor's degree. The equivalent of 8 years of progressively responsible work experience with an emphasis in Event Planning may be substituted for a degree.



CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS


Minimum: Valid California Driver's License


TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS


Minimum: Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong marketing skills. Excellent organizational skills, project management skills and attention to detail. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills. Strong writing and proofreading abilities.


Preferred: Experience with Client Relationship Management (CRM) software and working knowledge of web and social media marketing.


YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE


Minimum: At least 3 years of experience in event planning.

Preferred: Experience in healthcare or related field
