Responsible for the development and coordination of the adult, junior, and pet therapy volunteer programs within the hospital and in conjunction with the Director. This is a full time position which may require flexibility of hours.


·         Provides coordination of services for all volunteers in the Volunteer Program including initial contact (pre-interview), recruiting, interviewing, placement, competency assessment, work schedule assignment, rounding, orientation and training.

·         Leads or acts as a resource to deliver the highest quality volunteer services with a focus on continuous improvement within the various service areas, departments and units that utilize Volunteer Services. Prepares one year plans, long range plans and quarterly updates for the Volunteer Services Programs.

·       Maintains volunteer schedules by entering all data in the "master schedule" and reviews and updates this weekly.

·        Coordinates the Pet Assisted Therapy program, including orientation, placement, recognition events, and record keeping of required vaccinations and Therapy Dog International membership requirement approvals for all canine volunteer teams.

·      Assists the Director with planning and execution of volunteer special events by scheduling, gathering and researching award information from the database, overseeing guest lists, reservations, and program/annual report; assists with program planning, meal service, and facilitating a smooth atmosphere at the annual Awards and Recognition Luncheon and all other Volunteer Services' events.

·       Assists in developing new volunteer programs as requested by the departments by creating services descriptions, training performance checklists, and other training materials under the direction of the Director of Volunteer Services.

·        Performs administrative support functions for the Volunteer Services Department as needed.

 

LEVEL OF EDUCATION


Minimum: Associate's Degree or 4 years acting as a lead or resource for a volunteer workforce.


Preferred: Bachelor's Degree 


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS


Preferred: Certified Administrative Volunteer Services (CAVS) 

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS


Minimum: Intermediate MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook experience with Multimedia Equipment.


YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE 


Minimum:3 years’ experience working with a volunteer workforce
